Orphans Around the World

  • Each orphan house is more than a shelter—it’s a space built for family structure and functionality. Designed with separate living and bedroom areas, the layout fosters routine, privacy, and a sense of normalcy for children who’ve experienced instability.

  • These homes are designed with three critical space types:

    • Public Spaces for social interaction and emotional support

    • Service and Production Spaces for essential daily activities, including cooking, farming, and livestock care

    • A Backyard Area, which serves as an extension of the home for food preparation and sustainable living

  • Construction uses sustainable, climate-appropriate materials including straw, palm fronds, wood, and clay. This approach ensures each home remains cool, durable, and financially accessible, while supporting local construction methods and economies.
